January 18, 2008, Newsletter Issue #45: Greeting Card Etiquette for Businesses

Tip of the Week

When a business decides to give greeting cards to employees or customers, they don't want a well-meaning gesture to possibly offend someone. Here are a few guidelines on giving greeting cards for businesses.

- Never buy cheap greeting cards. Always buy greeting cards that are of good quality. This will show the people you're giving the cards to that you value them.

- Personally sign all of the greeting cards your company sends out. This adds a personal touch to your greeting card even if your information is already printed into the card itself.

- Always handwrite the addresses on the greeting card envelope or have someone do this for you.  Using pre-printed address labels will make your greeting cards look like a mass mailing and that is something you want to avoid.
