When it comes to children, parties don't have to be just for birthdays anymore. There are all sorts of themes you and your child can utilize to have a party for any reason or occasion. Get your child involved with planning the party! Kids love to help and they work hard for what they want to do. Try some of these special, themed party invitation ideas and get inspired to have a party!

  • Garden Party - Fold a piece of cardstock or construction paper in half. Draw a flower shape that is just a bit smaller than the folded paper. Cut along the edges of your drawing. Now you have the base of your card! Color or decorate your card any way you and your child desire. Once you're finished, fill in the time, date, place, and other important information on one side of the inside of the card. On the other side, use double-sided tape to attach a packet of flower seeds. This party is great for spring time!
  • Cookie Party - This party is great for anytime of the year. Just be sure you have enough space to make a lot of cookies! Fold a piece of cardstock in half. Use a hole punch to make two side-by-side holes in the center of the front of your card. Use a small piece of colorful ribbon and lace it through the holes so that each end is loose on the front of the card. Place a cookie cutter in the center and use the ribbon to tie the cookie cutter on. Add in your information on the inside of the card and you're ready to start baking! For an added touch, you can also add in a favorite cookie recipe for parents!
  • Ice Cream Party - This is a fun party for summer! You can throw a make-your-own ice cream sundae party. All you need is different flavors of ice cream, toppings and utensils. To make the invitation, you'll want to fold the piece of cardstock in half. Draw or use a template to trace a double-scooped ice cream cone or an ice cream sundae onto the front of the paper. Cut along the edges until your card is just the ice cream sundae or cone shape. Then you and your child can color the front of the invitation and add in the important information. I scream, you scream; we all scream for ice cream!
These are but a few ideas for creative parties and invitations. Use your imagination! Ask your child! You'll be surprised at the amazingly fun ideas your child will give you.
