There are many terms for the different styles and varieties of greeting cards. Below, you'll find a list of just a few of those terms and what they mean.

Accomodation Cards - These cards are sent to out-of-town guests who need to make hotel reservations. They include contact information to hotels close by.

Calling Cards - These cards were traditionally used when making a social call. Today, they are more commonly used as gift enclosures with a variety available for men, women and children.

Direction Cards or Map Cards - This type of card is sent when a party, reception or event are being held at a location that isn't well known. The card includes a written and drawn out map.

Engagement Announcements -   These cards are sent out to friends and family to announce the engagement of a couple and usually includes the date of the engagement.

Moving Cards - This type of card is usually sent out to friends and family with the new address and phone number when a family moves.

Reply Cards - These cards are often sent along with formal invitations. This is a great method for anyone to use to make RSVPs more simple.

These are a few of the different styles and varieties of greeting cards that people send for all different occasions. In this day and age, there is a card for nearly everything, it really just depends on how much time you plan to put into your event, occasion or party.
