Can special greeting cards still be requested from the White House?

Is someone you know celebrating a special milestone birthday in the coming year? Is there a special anniversary or a new baby coming soon? You can surprise them with a special greeting card from the White House!

You must be a U.S. citizen in order to receive a greeting card from the White House. Be sure you include the following information when making your request:

  • Name of honoree(s)
  • Address of honoree(s)
  • Form of address (ex. Mr., Mrs., etc.)
  • Date of the special occasion you are requesting the greeting card for. Be sure to include the month, day and year.
  • Your own name and daytime phone number.
A baby's birth greeting is sent within a year of the child's birth. Be sure to make the request after the baby is born!

Birthday greeting cards from the White House are sent to people celebrating their 80th or greater birthday. Make this request at least six weeks in advance to ensure timely arrival.

Wedding cards will be sent after the couple is married, so be sure to request this card after the actual event.

Anniversary greeting cards from the White House are sent to couples who are celebrating their 50th or greater wedding anniversary. Be sure to make requests for these greetings six weeks in advance of the anniversary.
